This course is aimed at children who are moving into year 5 or 6 onwards who can already ride unaided but might need a confidence boost to cycle on the road. The training starts in a local park and then those that are capable and safe are taken out onto local roads. Groups are small, 1 instructor works with no more than 6 children.
We may request to alter the timing of your session so that we can group the riders by ability.
What does my child need to take part in Bikeability?
As this course is taking place at Bike Right, we can provide bikes and helmets for the training. If your child would prefer to bring their own then please make sure this is roadworthy, with two working brakes and pumped up tyres.
What should my child wear to take part in Bikeability?
Suitable clothing for cycling for the season and weather. Excessively loose clothes may be hazardous and should be avoided. In colder months, warm layers and gloves are recommended. High visibility tabards will be provided by Bike Right.
Does my child need a cycle helmet?
Helmets must be worn on all sessions.
Please arrive 10 minutes befoe the start of the session and arrive promptly to collect your child.
