Level 3 Award in Developing Cycle Training Instructors


Course overview

Developed in partnership with The Bikeability Trust, the 1st4sport Level 3 Award in Developing Cycle Training Instructors is designed to prepare learners for employment as cycle training tutors. It is aimed at those who have been delivering Bikeability themselves for at least two years, and who would now like to work as trainers for new instructors.

Course pre-requisites

  • You must be cycling at Bikeability Level 3 competently, confidently & consistently.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.

  • You must have at least 2 years’ experience of and currently be delivering Bikeability.

  • Effective communication in English.

- Advice and guidance on pre-course tasks

 

- Learner self-assessment tool, which will tailor the RPL session around your experience, ensuring the best possible support

 

- An active learning experience over two days with practical, classroom and
e-learning aspects, covering both the theory behind and practice of training new instructors

- An on-site half-day assessment of your delivery of a Level 2 Instructor Training course (including the PCA), supported by evidence of 60 hours of Level 2 delivery and 9 hours of PCA delivery
